Abstract

This tutorial aims to provide up-to-date, internationally recognised definitions of acute coronary syndrome and myocardial infarction. The tutorial is intended to help critical care teams recognise when to escalate care and refer patients for coronary revascularisation. It covers the use of diagnostic tools, as well as common and less well-known ECG patterns, to help determine whether reperfusion is required and, if so, by what means and within what timescale.
